Historic Seattle

Historic Seattle believes that historic places provide an essential link to the past, reminding us of who we are and where we came from. Since 1973, Historic Seattle has been dedicated to preserving Seattle and King County’s architectural legacy.

Historic Seattle purchased Washington Hall from the Sons of Haiti, the Hall’s second owner, in June 2009 and completed the restoration project in May 2016. Washington Hall was designated a Seattle Landmark in 2009 and listed in the National Register in 2010.

Historic Seattle staffs two positions at Washington Hall, a Caretaker and a Community Liaison, and supports the ongoing stewardship efforts of the building in collaboration with the anchor organizations and building tenants.
